How to Clean My Invisalign Clear Aligners

When patients opt for Invisalign treatment, they are making a commitment to themselves. Part of that process is learning how to clean their Invisalign clear aligners. It isn’t as difficult as you might think and can be accomplished in a number of ways using either pre-made products or items you already have in your home.

The Importance of Cleaning Your Invisalign Clear Aligners

Keeping your tray aligners clean has many benefits. This will help you keep a healthier mouth as you work to transform your smile. You are brushing your teeth regularly, and perhaps rinsing with a mouthwash every morning. However, if you neglect to take proper care of your clear aligners, your teeth and breath may suffer.

Rinse your tray aligners every time you remove them for eating or drinking. This important step removes saliva build-up. Brush your aligners whenever you brush your teeth if possible. We understand that this isn’t always something you can do. Using a soft bristle brush on your tray aligners will loosen any lingering residue.

In addition to maintaining your aligners throughout the day, it is recommended that you soak them for 10 to 30 minutes at least every other day.

How to Clean Your Invisalign Clear Aligners

Many people add daily soaking of their Invisalign tray aligners to their daily routine. For example, you can soak your trays during your morning or evening shower. Once you develop the habit, it will be a normal part of your routine.
